Trick Eye Museum

Every Wednesday is “playdate day’! So on Tuesday evening I started scratching my head, thinking of activities for the girls. They had played dough, did painting, and went for a picnic; what’s next? Deb suggested going to the Trick Eye Museum and I’m glad we went.

Trick Eye Museum, a renowned tourist destination in South Korea, has made its way to Singapore. This 3D art gallery features paintings created using trompe l’oeil techniques that give each 2D art piece the illusion of being 3D.

I was quite surprised that on such non-peak period (no festive seasons or school holidays), there was still quite a crowd! Half the time I struggled to pull Sonia away from those trying to take some pictures with the ‘art pieces’. Also, she wasn’t very enthusiastic about taking pictures (sigh). She was, however, happy to just follow Heidi around 🙂

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAWe just set foot in the museum. Sonia obviously looked lost and confused.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThe girls seemed to like the cage A LOT! Sonia walked in and out the cage at least fifty times (no pun intended).

Kids… haha….

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAEffect would have been more drastic if Sonia were to stand on the extreme left, but she wouldn’t corporate. She wanted to be standing next to jie jie all the time!!!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAI really like this picture because this is probably the ONLY decent picture I have of her posing in a manner so relevant to the object (in this case, pretending to balance on planks and tubes).

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAfter walking and snapping heaps of pictures, they got tired and requested for biscuit and water. So we took a break, sat at some corner to snack.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAHeidi, thanks for taking this photo for us!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAnd here’s our little photographer – Heidi.

IMG-20140820-WA0073I was driving, so didn’t manage to take any pictures when they were in the car. Here’s a picture of them (all strapped to their car seats). Deborah, thanks for the picture! Anyway, initially I thought this was taken after we left Sentosa but later realised that it was taken as we just left home (see the security room at the background?!?). I’m too lazy to shift this picture to the top of the post so I shall leave it as it is.

+++++

It was a day well spent!
