To the bird park
The night before, Sonia, hubby and I decorated the little brown bag and packed a packet of milo and bread in it (we were told to do so by her teachers).
I drew the sun and clouds. Hubby touched it up with some trees and house. And Sonia pasted stickers all over the bag. She later decided to bring Arnold along but it’s a school trip, not a family outing! So I told her “honey, we could paste a family photo on the brown bag so we can take both papa and Arnold to the bird park”! Sonia beamed at my suggestion and ran to take a photo from my drawer.
There you go… her little brown bag.
When we reached school, we saw what other kids did for their little brown bag. Boy, they (their parents) were creative! Elijah’s brown paper bag looked like a car (they had wheels). Dilan had 3D clouds popping out of his bag. And another girl had a bird drawn on her bag with little (real) feathers sticking out.
Sonia didn’t like the bird show. Those birds were just too BIG and FIERCE to her liking. There were hawks, owls and eagles. She held me tight and wouldn’t let go. All she said was “mama, I want go home… now… now”.
The trip back to school was relatively quite. Most kids fell asleep in the bus.
I hope Learning Vision will organise more of such trips! Looking forward!!!
