The MIL’s Birthday
Today, you turned fifty-one. We came together, not to celebrate the numbers (51) but to remind ourselves how blissful we are to have you with us. I want to tell you how much I value you and how appreciative I am to have you in my life. Many moons ago when I was “young and single,” I heard so much about what sour relationship my friends had with their MIL. You can imagine how disconcerting that was. When Ed and I got married, I was so nervous yet excited as I stepped and lived in a new home with all of you. My worries were for naught because you not only welcomed me into your family with an open arm, but also with your heart.
Over the pass years, I see how you love your children completely and fearlessly. They were literally your life; you have devoted all your time and love to the four men with no qualms. And now, to our two children. You heart is full with so much love to give.
While I think you know how much we love you, I just want to take the time to expressly say that you will always have a place in our home, our lives, and our hearts. I love you so much and there is no one I would rather have as my MIL and a 奶奶 to my children. Please always know that while I may not express myself often enough, I treasure my relationship with you.
