Read and Reap
One of our favourite hangouts – Marine Parade Public Library.
I want my kids to touch books, not iPad.
Read and Reap!
The second we reached the Children Level, Arnold will walk around the book shelves, choosing books. No, he hasn’t learned how to read yet. He can’t even recognise alphabets! But he still go ahead choosing books (I guess, based on the outlook of the book cover). He tends to choose books with colourul covers or with objects he finds familiar with.
While I hope that he would sit there quietly and read his book, that NEVER EVER HAPPENS! He often walk about the library, looking for people, not books. It doesn’t matter if they were kids of his age, older children, adults or the elderly, he wants to communicate with them. He speaks in his baby language and expects a reply. When he waves at someone, he wants that someone to reciprocate. He needs A LOT OF ATTENTION!!!
:: Smiling at an uncle, waiting for him to reciprocate in some way. ::
I think he’s there to make friends and disturb every single person he finds at the library. Books don’t interest him as much as human does.
We will head to the library again, SOON.
