Cool De Sac @ Suntec

2015 06 30 - WESAplay - Cool De SacI wasn’t sure if it was my birthday, or theirs, but it didn’t matter. I’m happy when they are happy!

Here was Hub’s original plan. To rejuvenate at AWAY SPA at W Singapore – Sentosa Cove, enjoy the luxury and ease back into the real world in a private garden while savouring spa sips and nibbles. Follow by lunch at THE KITCHEN TABLE and a walk by a park. Sounded good? Of course! My entire body was aching and a massage was a treat! But things often never go as planned.

Sonia caught the flu bug from Arnold despite all the effort made to prevent it from happening. So both kids were home. How could we leave both kids with my MIL while we enjoy ourselves out there. The guilt got into me and so we brought all three of them out.

The weather was really HOT today! Though the weather forecast read 34 degree Celsius, it felt like 39. Needless to say, we ended up at the mall (the heat was too much to bear). The second we set foot at Suntec City, Sonia beamed with joy “Mummy, are we going to the draw draw place? You know, that place that we can cut and paste?” No one could understand what she was talking about but I did (I’m her mother, a worm in her tummy, haha). Many months ago, we brought the kids to Cool De Sac, an indoor playground. Just once, and she remembered! Anything to do with play doesn’t slip of their mind.

So here we are, at this spacious and colourful indoor playground.

The first thing we saw as we walk through the mini gate into the playground… the kids went “woah”

We parked our strollers, belongings, and shoes here, before heading for some fun (and backaches, opss)… Remember to bring your own pair of socks. They are compulsory, even for adults.

Some housekeeping before move on… Yes, they have a diaper room! Convenient! Better if they have kids’ toilet in their compound too!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I wasn’t very impressed with their diaper room but we’ll make do with it. It beats walking to the nearest nursing room at the mall (which is still quite a distance away).

I was taking my own sweet time but my gems were eager to dash into the playground. Guess who we saw? I had to run after Arnold who brisk walked (he doesn’t know how to run yet) to Cool De Sac puppy! I know, he doesn’t look excited in this picture but he was! Sonia on the other hand was afraid of him. Maybe it was because of his size? He was even bigger than her daddy!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The rocking bridge – we spent a good 30 minutes running to and fro the bridge. Both of them had a whale of a time.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I was surprised at how independent Arnold was. He didn’t need any help climbing up the stairs, nor did he need help walking across the rocking bridge.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Sonia was obsessed with jumping. She laid the hula hoops in a row on the grass patch and started hoping with her new found friend, while Arnold the spoiler attempted to remove all her hoops. They were hilarious!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Arnold’s new found thrill! He went on and on sliding. Sonia who didn’t quite like sliding, joined in too. She must be wondering what good fun Arnold was having and decided to try it out herself.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Now to her favourite craft corner. Doodling, cutting, pasting, stamping, you name it, she likes it all!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Arnold has no patience for crafting. He wants to be in the limelight.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Did I mention he climbed up the stage to dance? Should have taken a video!!! What a pity.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

And after his ‘performance’, he asked that we clapped.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Look who’s at the craft station?

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Yes, Daddy Ong!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I thought he was helping Sonia with her art work until I saw this –>

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

He was making a birthday card for me! Awwwwww… so sweet. Love you deep deep!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Meanwhile, the kids moved on to the Lego corner.

Saving the best for last. We had most fun here! Hub took heaps of video of us sliding but I’m not good with movie maker, so here, the only picture I have at the slide. We started off with Arnold sliding because Sonia fear height. She couldn’t understand why Arnold could enjoy sliding so much and decided to give it a go after Arnold slide for the 50th time. And then, she got HOOKED. I went up and down, up and down with her for at least a hundred times (no pun intended or at least I felt like it was that many times) before I decided, it was time to go home (hey, I was tired out)! Arnold stopped sliding after he hit his cheek on the slide while trying to walk upwards (not possible but curious kid will stop at nothing to find out what will happen if he decides to go against gravity).

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

While Sonia and I continued sliding, Arnold parked himself at the Tots corner playing toys.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

There seems lesser toys as compared to the time we were here months back. But they were good enough for him.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Facilities were getting old and torn too. Some maintenance work needs to be done, no?

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

There was the costume area but none could fit my kids. They were too big! Or they were too small.

So will I bring my kids here again? You bet! We spent more than 3 hours at the playground and still the kids were reluctant to leave. The crafting corner and the three-tall-slides kept them occupied all afternoon.

If you are planning to take your kids there too (especially on a hot afternoon when outdoor activities get too uncomfortable), Cool De Sac is situated at 3 Temasek Boulevard, Suntec City Mall #02-379/80, Singapore 038983 (just beside Cocoa Tree). They are opened from 10am to 8pm (until 10pm on weekends, including Friday).
