MERMAID THEMED BIRTHDAY PARTY
You are my first love and first love always holds a special place in the heart. From the day you were born, you bring so much love and light to our family. Your precious smile and spirit have stopped strangers in their tracks. Like a magnet, you draw people from all walks of life to come forth. You have no idea how thankful and proud I am to be your mama.
You are a tiny tot with a BIG personality. Very curious and inquisitive. Always singing, rhyming, and making up words. And you continue to astound me with your ludicrous conversations! Over the past year, you learn to count and spell your name. Though writing them on paper is still a challenge, no sweat, we will work on them together. I want you to enjoy your childhood as much as possible because when you turn seven, the spelling, 听写, and examinations are going to haunt us, both. For now, have fun! Learn through play, and play hard. Make friends and build on your character and personality, because EQ is as important as IQ.
Princesses are your life. Frozen still rules the roost in our house, but mermaid is close behind. You love to sing and dance to Anastatia’s “Once Upon A December” with your little brother, and calls him your prince. Dressing up is your favourite past time and you have been very picky with your dresses. Now I have no authority over what you wear because you make your own decisions. While I love how you have grown to be more independent, I miss the time when you were more dependent on me.
Your singing is my favourite sound. I honestly can’t get enough! You have memorised over a dozen songs, including some disney soundtrack! I remember singing them a lot when I was a child too. Like mother, like daughter, no?
Lately, your favourite hang out is at Beary Fun. Something about jumping on the trampoline and launching yourself into the pit makes you chuckle and laugh a lot. You like being around with your friends and gets exceptionally excited whenever you get to go to Beary Fun with your bestie, Kyla!
Sweetheart, you are sweet, affectionate, thoughtful, helpful, generous, and, at times, silly, rowdy and obnoxious. But I love you anyway. You are the best daughter anyone can have, a loving sister, a good friend and you are only four years old!
What will four bring you? I hope a year of fun, learning and happiness. You are my bright shining star, my love, and I wish you a very happy birthday.
MERMAID THEMED BIRTHDAY PARTY
Planning and prepping for Sonia’s birthday was tiring and tedious, but all effort was worthwhile the second her face lit up with joy when she walked into the function room. Ever since she told me she wanted a mermaid themed birthday party, I had been thinking, conceptualising, and designing her party. It really isn’t easy being a party styler. There are so much you needed to do concurrently, and so I roped in my family!
First, I designed the backdrop and worked everything else in line with the backdrop design. I then worked on the invite and started sending them to our guests!
There were also the cupcake toppers, little sails for the konnyaku, tent cards, bunting, birthday chart, stickers, posters, and birthday favours. My mum took care of the balloon decorations. Hub and FIL took care of the DIY castle and game station. Dad helped with running errands. Our helpers cooked a storm. And I baked the pandan cake and chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter swiss meringue buttercream. While all of us were busy with Sonia’s party, my MIL helped to look after my two little imps! It’s a family affair!
My favourite artwork of all is Sonia’s birthday chart! Yes, she said she wants to be a princess doctor. Everything had to be princess related.
For the first time, Sonia invited her teachers and schoolmates to her party and she was so so excited! We were glad the party went on well and we really hoped everyone enjoyed themselves! Thank you all for your love and gifts! Sonia was very stoked. She had been raving about her birthday party for days! And when we finally gotten the photo from the photographer, she jumped on the bed ecstatically, chattering (non-stop) about her party! She then went to grab her dress and said “Mama, I will bath and wear my birthday dress, then you call my friends to come. I want to celebrate my birthday, okie?” We all burst into laughter!
Alrighty, I will let the pictures do the talking! Just to prep you, there are more than 300 pictures and I love them to the bits! If you ever need photography services, I totally recommend Jeremy Chua! We left him alone to do the photoshoot and he surprised us with these beautiful pictures! Jeremy seems to be able to capture those whimsical, playfully quaint moments! We’re impressed! In fact, we will be getting him to take some family shoots for us some time next month.
Here’s a photo-video-clip before the whole lot of photo!
Thanks for joining us in celebrating Sonia’s 4th birthday!
