Celebrating CNY the kids’ way

2017 01 30 - CNY with the kids

Chinese New Year is here again! It’s my second favourite festive of the year (the first being my birthday, because hub treats me like a queen… haha)! Besides the routine CNY visiting, this year we had something new!

Well, you see, grandpa and grandma have their fair share of friends they celebrate CNY with. Daddy and mummy have their circle of friends! It is only fair that the kids are allowed to celebrate with their peers too! And so, this year, we had their friends over our place for Chinese New Year! Yeah! It was a blast! The kids enjoyed themselves and so did we! In fact, we are already looking forward to next year’s CNY!

This video clip sums up our day!

PAW PETROL FANATICS

For some reason, Paw Petrol is a big hit among the children. This Canadian animated television series created by Keith Chapman was first aired in 2013. Funny it didn’t get popular until late 2016.

The theme song is now Sonia and Arnold’s favourite song! They sing to the tune “Paw Petrol, Paw Petrol, we’ll be there on the double. Whenever there’s a problem, around Adventure Bay, Ryder and his team of pups, will come and save the day…” E.V.E.R.Y.D.A.Y!!! Even I can sing that song now. Thankfully, there aren’t many Paw Petrol merchandises at the mall, else it’s going to burnt a hole in our pockets.

Since everyone loves Paw Petrol, I DIY some customised Paw Petrol cards for the kids! And created some Math worksheets using Paw Petrol characters! This made learning fun, no? If you are interested, you can download those Paw Petrol activity sheets at the end of this blog post!

No Christmas Tree like we have in the West, but instead, Chinese decorate the house with mandarin trees for good luck, which by the way, also make good presents if you are visiting someone.
