CRAFT WORK FOR VALENTINE DAY

Wool you be my valentine?

I know this is long overdue but I still want to share this craft work with you! About two months ago, we did this – “WOOL YOU BE MY VALENTINE?”

Valentine’s Day hasn’t been special to me until three years ago! No, that’s not when I met my husband or married him. That’s when Arnold was born. That morning, very early in the morning, I was already in the labour room, waiting to meet him. The contraction came and went, and to the cut a long story short, he arrived in this beautiful world in my arms. That feeling was magic, something I will never forget even when I’m old with dementia. I wanted to teach my kids about Valentine’s Day, in a way they could understand, so I thought of this!

Since Valentine’s Day is about love and giving, why not make something special and unique for all their teachers. I printed a picture of a sheep with a header “WOOL YOU BE MY VALENTINE?”.

This crafting activity is simple and easy to do. Even 3 years old kids are capable of doing them!

WHAT YOU NEED?

All you need is a paintbrush, glue, and some fluffy pom poms! Easy and not messy! I like! If you do not have pom poms, you can use any other materials as deem fit. Perhaps old magazine, beads, or even plastic or paper bags. Just shred them into smaller pieces and paste!

CRAFTING IN PROGRESS

First, I poured some glue onto a small cardboard. You can use a paint plate if you like. After which hand your kids a brush each, so they can spread the glue all over the sheep.

Next, give them some fluffy pom poms to stick on the sheep.

We went on and on until we finished a whole bag of pom poms!

Even after so, we had a few more cards left; so Sonia decided to colour them with colour pencils and Arnold followed suit.

Crafting with my kids allow me to bond better with them! Although sometimes I end up clearing a really big mess, we had fun and that’s all that mattered! Kids learn through play.
